
RJC Dance is the leading inclusive Black dance organisation in the North empowering children, young people and adults through dance, movement and exercise. Youth development and education is at the heart of our work and we are committed to vitality, active participation, creativity and renewal. We seek to inspire, nurture and develop the next generation of diverse artists working in partnership with national organisations to develop the diversity of Black British dance as a valued art form. To develop and maximise the creative potential of children and young people by offering regular opportunities to dance and achieve.
Encourage and inspire the the older generation to keep moving and find the joy in dance, no matter their age.
To be a key contributor to the health and wellbeing of our neighbourhood, city and nation by delivering innovative approaches to movement and providing community dance initiatives and dance in education.
To support and develop the Black British choreographic language and dancers through professional development, performance activity and accredited programmes of work.
To develop an organisation that is robust and responsive to the changing economic environment through dynamic leadership and committment to the Mandela Centre, Chapeltown, Leeds.
