RJC Dance is pleased to announce that we are to receive two new funding sources this year. The generous support from Mohn WestLake Foundation and The High Sheriff of West Yorkshire Fund, will help to sustain the organisation and its online community engagement work, through creative dance activities that support the health and wellbeing of our children, young people and families.
The funding from Mohn WestLake will be used towards RJC Dance's running costs until March 2022. It will allow us to continue our programme of performance, education and creative dance, which we will do online until face to face work can safely resume.
Meanwhile, The High Sheriff of West Yorkshire Fund is supporting RJC Dance to continue our Boys Group, from April 2021 for 24 weeks. These creative arts sessions are much needed for the young males (9 - 19yrs) who take part, providing a special space to get into dance, build confidence and express themselves. These sessions are currently run online, and will also continue this way until we can meet again face to face safely.
Through both of these fantastic awards, we hope to reaffirm the positive and creative force that dance, movement and exercise can play in society to counterbalance the devastating impact of COVID19 on our community, this year and beyond.
