
The 50th Anniversary of the Leeds West Indian Carnival and Birmingham Weekender Festival 2017 provide a unique opportunity for RJC Dance and Ace Dance & Music to co-design and combine the tradition of Carnival as well as the contemporary artist led designs that are now presented in Caribbean carnivals.
This collaboration between past and present, the theme of traditional Caribbean folklore characters will be explored through costume, dance and movement in the carnival presentations, created by choreographers from both RJC Dance and Ace Dance and Music, with an inter generational carnival troupe igniting the streets and lifting the spirits of on lookers of each part of the parade in each city!

Leeds West Indian Carnival 50th anniversary biggest Carnival troupes will set off approximately 2pm from Potternewton Park, LS7 4HA and parade through Chapeltown and Harehills.
