On behalf of RJC Dance, and as an organisation funded by Arts Council England (a Royal Charter Organisation), we pay our respects and express our gratitude to the Duke of Edinburgh for his support for the arts and culture sector over so many years, which included royal patronages for numerous cultural organisations.
For a lot of people, his biggest legacy was the Duke of Edinburgh Award. In previous years, many RJC Dance Youth Provision members have achieved The Duke of Edinburgh Award, and the experience has enriched their life skills, their confidence and their love of being active.
AJ, a RJC Dance Youth Provision alumna comments - “ I come from an urban background, and through the Duke of Edinburgh Award I acquired great rural outdoor and team building skills, along with first aid - learning CPR. I am now almost 28 (time does fly), I completed my Silver Dof E award when I was around 15. It was a challenging yet fun and memorable experience and achievement”.
